Huntsville Festival of the Arts is committed to providing free or low-cost educational opportunities to our community. We offer diverse workshops facilitated by professional artists and educators, our annual scholarship program, and a number of mentorship & volunteer opportunities that facilitate learning.
- Since 1997, we have directly engaged over 10,000 students in arts education opportunities
- We Budget approximately $10,000.00 each year to support arts education
- We have awarded scholarships for further training to 45 senior performing artists
- We proudly award a $1,000 scholarship for Visual Arts to a Huntsville High School student each year.
- We have welcomed over 4,000 students to the theatre to enjoy upcoming musicals in order to immerse them into the world of musical theatre.

2024 Senior scholarship recipients are
-
- Blake Quinlan (technical studies) who will use their funds towards their post-secondary tuition.
- Bridget Johnson (violin) who will be using the funds towards her ongoing musical training in Huntsville.
- Juniper Nuedling-Black (piano) who will be using the support towards her continued musical training
- Kara McClung (Piano, Vocal) who will be using the support towards her continued musical training
- Thomas Flynn (Acting for Theatre & Film) who will use the funds towards private acting lessons
- Xee Busse (Saxophone) who will use the funds to subsidize the purchase of a new instrument.
The Junior Scholarship recipients are
-
- Chloe Hawes (dance) who will put her funds towards her continued dance training at Muskoka Dance Academy
- Isaac Leonard (guitar) who will use the funds to subsidize the purchase of his dream guitar
- Malcolm Fairhall (saxophone) who will be using the support towards her continued musical training
- Ryleigh Lay (dance) who will put her funds towards her continued dance training at Muskoka Dance Academy
- Scarlett Fisher (piano) who will be furthering her musical development with Sarah Spring
Since 1997 a total of $77,350 has been awarded to 66 Senior candidates, $16,650 to 43 junior/intermediate candidates over the same period.
KAREEN BURNS HFA SCHOLARSHIP
HfA is proud to support a visual arts student through the Kareen Burns HFA scholarship administered through Huntsville High School. The 2024 award went to Fiona Fletcher who is studying drawing and painting at OCADU.
This award is in honour of Kareen Burns who was a past HfA Board member and valued member of the Huntsville Community. Her spirit of creativity, imagination and ingenuity continues to make a positive impact on our community.
